Large Apatite Skull – 1.73 kg

This large blue apatite crystal skull was hand-carved in Brazil by Walmere, one of the most respected skull carvers I work with. It weighs 1.73 kg and measures 13 x 8 x 9.5 cm, making it a substantial skull with a strong, steady feel in the hands and a beautiful display presence.

The stone itself has that deep blue-green apatite color that immediately catches the eye. In the photos you can see a mix of richer teal-blue areas, lighter cloudy sections, natural lines, and crystalline textures running through the skull. It is not a flat or uniform piece of apatite. It has life, movement, and natural variation, with areas that almost look like underwater ice or ancient mineral layers.

There are also some small natural vugs in the stone. These are natural open pockets in the mineral and not damage from the carving process. Personally, I like these details in apatite because they give the skull more character and make it very clear that this is a natural gemstone, not a treated or overly perfected decorative object. Walmere has worked with the shape of the material beautifully, keeping the skull smooth and polished while still respecting the natural structure of the apatite.
